Kraken Institutional partners with Upshift to offer on-chain yield within custody framework

Kraken Institutional said it has partnered with on-chain yield platform Upshift to let eligible institutional clients earn yield on idle Bitcoin, Ether, stablecoins and other crypto assets while remaining inside Kraken’s compliant custody framework. The setup is built around dedicated vaults rather than pooled structures. According to the announcement, Upshift will create a separate customized vault for each client based on that client’s investment strategy, risk parameters, liquidity needs and portfolio composition. Assets will be allocated to these non-custodial vaults and then deployed into selected on-chain contracts. In return, the client’s segregated Kraken custody account will receive a receipt token. The arrangement is aimed at giving institutional clients a way to access on-chain yield strategies without moving outside Kraken’s custody environment.
